Africa has more blind and visually impaired people than any other region in the world.

The majority of this blindness is preventable, by either medication or cataract surgery. The wholly Kenyan MEAK Eye Team has performed over 92 outreach missions, to regions all over Kenya, often in the most remote areas.

MEAK have examined over 90,000 people and given medication and performed sight-restoring cataract surgery to nearly 12,000 people.
